[Risolto] - Ubuntu Gnome18.04 - tempo comparsa grub esagerato

Salve,
Premesso che il problema si presenta, in maniera identica, sia con Ubuntu 18.04 Gnome sia con Ubuntu 16.04 Unity, e si manifestava anche mentre c'erano collegati altri due HDD, su cui ho delle partizioni dati e altri sistemi operativi.
Da quì in avanti ogni passaggio è riferito a Ubuntu Gnome 18.04
Ho tre hdd: 
- sda su cui è installato Ubuntu in trialboot con Ubuntu 16.04 e con Win 10
- sdb su cui c'e una partizione dati e due s.o. , Mint 19.3 e MX-18.3
- sdc su cui c'é una partizione dati e un sistema operativo, Ubuntu 18.04 Mate
Ovviamente in precedenza, sul grub vedevo anche i s.o. installati negli altri hdd oltre che su sda.
Per mia scelta ho usato  il grub di ubuntu 16.04 da circa 2 anni e fino a due giorni fa.
Avviavo il pc e dopo circa 5 / 6 secondi necessari alla lettura del bios e dei dispositivi presenti, si sentiva un Beep e subito dopo compariva la schermata del grub dove scegliere il sistema operativo da lanciare.
Da ieri mattina, dopo la lettura del bios e dopo il Beep, comincia un tempo di attesa  (che ho misurato) di circa 5 minuti e mezzo, prima che compaia il grub.  Subito dopo, scegliendo il sistema da lanciare, ivi compresao win 10), la procedurra si svolge entro 4--6 secondi per arrivare alla schermata di login di ubuntu, oppure entro 20--25 secondi per arrivare al desktop di win.
Al manifestarsi del problema, pensando che dipendesse dal grub, avevo provato a ripararlo con una live di "boot repair", poi da live supergrub disk e  pure provando ad aggiornare e reinstallare grub su sda.
Non avendo alcun risultato, avevo cambiato con il grub di Ubuntu 18.04 Gnome, provvedendo ad installarlo su sda, al posto di quello della 16.04, senza esito positivo.
Pensando che il problema potesse verificarsi per la presenza degli altri dischi, ho staccato fisicamente gli altri due hdd e provveduto a riaggiornare il grub, in maniera da eliminare il riferimento agli altri s.o.ma senza esito.

Ho letto in giro, ma non trovo corrispondenze che io possa usare adattandole alla mia necessità.
Avete qualche suggerimento che possa aiutarmi a risolvere   098

Se il problema è pre grub, non è un problema delle distribuzioni, ma qualcosa del bios a mio parere.
Quindi controlla che il disco di avvio corrisponda a quello che deve fare il boot.

Il disco dove è installato il bootloader (grub) è quello scelto come primo device per l'avvio (sda) e l'UUID della partizione dove è il s.o. è corretto (sda6)

dubito che dipenda dalle distribuzioni o da windows, in quanto ancora non è caricato nulla, di conseguenza rimane il bios, qualche setaggio, non hai modificato nulla recentemente ? Anche la modifica dell'ora può portare a problemi Il tuo bios è uefi o vecchio bios ?

Adesso vado a riavviare e spero di capire cosa succede.

Fatta modifica e riavviato; dopo il beep, solita schermata violacea ma non compare alcuna scritta.
Cronometrato il tempo dal beep alla comparsa del grub che è di circa 2,30 minuti.
poi, una volta scelto il s.o., tutto regolare.
Rimetto a posto "quiet splash" e attendo istruzioni.
